Some people say I was born with a keyboard in my hands. The truth is I touched the keyboard circa at the age of 10, and since then, I've spent countless hours solving different problems of mine and the others. When not programming, I do climbing or cycling because movement is necessary. If I wasn't a programmer, I could teach kids. Oh, wait - I already did!
Now I can participate in various interesting projects.
2020 - presentSuPr Běh (Sušický Překážkový Běh) is a sport event similar to Spartan race. Challenged by my brother, I practised a lot and took part in this competition.
Although it was much easier than the Spartan race, I scored 7th place out of 25 men in my category, which I consider great success.
SuPrBěh result list 2020This one is quite a notable achievement. During the Covid-19 times I've bought a 3D printer
There were many difficulties from the beginning, starting with shipping from the stock, but finally, the printer arrived.
Anet A6 is one of the cheapest printers available. Very soon I've realized I'll pay for it with my time.
I've spent many hours changing the firmware to Marlin. I had almost no experience with this kind of low-level programming, except for the Bremen's hackathon. However, I can't resist this kind of challenge.
After many hours, I learned I need to burn a bootloader into the printer, which wasn't that trivial using my Raspberry Pi (which I won in the McKinsey coding competition). Then I could finally flash the Marlin firmware with almost no guides available on the internet.
Therefore I've summed my process up into a guide and made it publicly available. Hopefully, it will help someone.
Anet A6L with Marlin 2.0 2020By the end of 2019 we took part in McKinsey coding competition.
This competition was quite different from the usual hackathons we've taken part in yet. The difference was mainly in a given and particular topic. We had just a few hours to complete as many user stories as possible.
The final product was a web mobile-first application for tracking local sports opportunities.
I'm sure we've done an excellent job with our app Benefits, and the judges agreed. We have won the first prize, which was awesome.
Throwback video 2019Since we really love HackPrague, we've taken part in this hackathon for the third time!
This year's topic was Smart Cities. We came up with an idea that Smart City does not necessarily mean big cities like Prague. Less populated towns also have their issues which can be solved in a smart way.
We've created SMAPRT - a web application based on self-organizing maps algorithm and open data. The objective of SMAPRT is to provide mayors with a solution to find municipalities with similar properties in order to cooperate on a solution to common issues.
SMAPRT at Corpismap blog 2019Czech hackathons we've taken part in so far were great. However, we decided to try something different. We were accepted to JacobsHack in Bremen, Germany.
Following the spirit of trying something new, we grabbed some hardware devices and developed a solution to prevent fraudulent ticket reselling using on-demand lifespan-limited QR code generation.
For this solution we were awarded the Best IoT Hack using Qualcomm device prize.
TicketSecurify at DevPost 2018After winning HackPrague 2018 we got an opportunity to promote ourselves at ReactiveConf 2018 final stage. We had a short talk about Curriculum Catenae and its demo implementation.
2018I develop and support Android applications written mainly in Kotlin (because Kotlin is love). With Whadoo we will conquer not only the West End.
By the way, Whadoo is a company we established after winning HackPrague 2017.
Tickets for Tonight 2018 - presentI successfully graduated with my master's studies as a software engineer.
2018 - 2021After circa four years of full-stack development and support of web applications for Česká spořitelna, I became a member of the OpenShift Tools team, where I'm in charge of tools for CI/CD pipeline. All of that as an externe, an employee of the 1.PF company.
2016 - 2020After our big success the previous year, we attended HackPrague again. We were not aiming for the first place, and our main goal was the enjoy the fantastic event. However, our BlockChain Curriculum Vitae made a perfect impression on the jury.
Although the grand price was won by a team in AI category, we were awarded the BlockChain category price.
Curriculum Catenae on DevPost 2018After three hard years, I graduated my bachelor studies with honours. My bachelor project topic was Project management information system with focus on software support phase.
Lessons learned? Team is the answer!
Bachelor thesis 2018Our solution with BlockChain used for solving several Ticketing issues met success at a great London Theatre Direct's hackathon in Paralelni Polis.
2017Together with my awesome teammates we were awarded the Best Travel Hack prize and announced as the overall winners of one of the best hackathons - HackPrague.
Whadoo on DevPost 2017The summer holiday of 2015 was dedicated to writing an exercise book for LEGO Mindstorms EV3 for teachers and students. I've included ideas for tasks of different difficulty, robot building instructions and solutions written in both, LEGO's graphical language and Java for comparison. Guess what, people use it!
LEGO Excercise book Jul 2015 - Aug 2015After eight years I graduated with honours. Some of the learnt knowledge I still use (like how to be a grammar nazi), the rest I've already forgotten.
The most important experience I've learnt is: I hate learning things by heart; it's the wrong way. The right way to learn new things is by regular practising!
2006 - 2015I was still a high school student who wanted to taste the other side - I was teaching children 12 to 15 years old programming basics in GameMaker. Oh, GameMaker, that's where I started...
2013 - 2015We took part in the Technical Olympiad of the Pilsen Region. We've taken an old bicycle, replaced most of the metal frame with carbon pipes, added a little, though powerful, electric engine and voilà - electric bicycle has been born.
Later on, we've presented our bicycle on StreTech 2014 as well.
Article with photos 2014Chemical experiments - who wouldn't love them? We've created a fantastic chemical-physical-electronic chain reaction. With our video we've won both - the jury and audience prize.
Preparations took us lot's of afternoons, but it was worth it! We were invited to Czech National Technical Museum to show our experiment to the jury in reality. Guess what happened! Fire + smoke + National Technical Museum = Fire alarm and fireproof blinds. What a great experience!
